A Life Well Lived

Dedicated to Pastor Buddy Hoffman.

Life has its twists and turns. There are distractions and unforeseen circumstances around every corner. We choose how we shall live each day. None of us live on this earth forever. So in the words of Jesse Smith, what will you do with your dash?

The Lord shares with us in scripture of many men who feared him and kept his commandments. Here are two. Joshua chose a life of faith. As the Israelites prepared to enter the Promised Land he told them, choose you today whom you shall serve, but as for me and my house I shall serve the Lord. The New Testament writer Paul faced many trials but never lost sight of his call in life. He preached the Gospel everywhere at all times. Paul desired to finish the race and one day hear well done good and faithful servant.

Today I think about the life of my dear friend Buddy Hoffman. He has experienced the abundant life and shown many others how to do the same. Like Paul, he has preached the Gospel everywhere at all times. He has poured the Word of God into our lives verse by verse and step by step. Many of us have been blessed to serve alongside Him. More than a preacher he is a great father, husband and friend to many. My friend thank you for your godly example; one day you will hear, well done my good and faithful servant. Until that day may we continue to fear God and keep his commandments.

"to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me." Colossians 1:27-29 NASB
