Peacemaker

Blessed are the peacemakers!

During one of my recent devotions I stopped at this word peacemaker. It brought back memories of my father in my youth. Daddy only had a 9th grade education, yet he was the smartest man I’ve ever known.

For a time in the 60’s he was a negotiator with the AFL-CIO. He was brought in to settle disputes between the unions & employers. His counsel was sought by many. How did this man with little formal education become so wise? He invested his life in people; relationships were important to him. He listened and helped people find common ground in their differences; understood each side’s needs and brought them together. He was the Solomon of his day. Peace is a choice. Life is short. Choose to settle your differences today.
