Life in the Fast Lane

I’m running wide open and not getting where I need to be. There are 24 hours in the day, and yet it doesn’t seem to be enough time. This is life in the fast lane.

It’s not healthy. Life speeds up and soon we are consumed with busyness. It’s hard to complete our important tasks because we have become distracted. We’ve said "yes" to too much. Maybe it’s time to re-assess, clean your plate and refocus on what is most important.

Moving to the country has helped me ...to slow down. Each week when I depart my office in the city and head to Farrbee; as soon as I leave the interstate and hit the country roads, life slows down. I begin to refocus on what’s important. We each have to find this place on a regular basis away from the routine. Maybe for you it’s an evening walk or a few moments in a good book.

Along with these moments of refocusing on my core values, Q-R-S, it helps me to stay focused and not be consumed by busyness. Life is a journey, enjoy it.
