Reflection

13 years ago today my father graduated to heaven. He was my best friend in life, mentor & role model. He loved life and loved people; that was evident by the many honorary pall bearers at his funeral. Each of these men would have said Daddy was their best friend.

One of my special memories of Daddy occurred just a couple of months before his death. As I walked into the house he grabbed me and threw me to the floor and began wrestling. My mother was freaking out, 'you are going to kill your father!' He was 75 and I 48 at that time. We finished and had a great laugh. He kept childlike enthusiasm throughout his life.

Daddy made the holidays special. He loved this time of the year, taking gifts to the elderly, visiting with family and relishing on memories past. On this day each year, I take time to reflect on the many good memories of my time with Daddy. He molded me and pointed me in the right direction. Here are a few things that he taught me.

- Your name is everything – remember you are a Farr

- Life is short, stop and capture the moment

- Family is work

- Be a neighbor

- Honor the elderly

- Love people

- Love & Obey God

May you and your family have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Stop, take time to enjoy your family & friends.
