Memorial
Webster’s defines a memorial as “something designed to preserve the memory of a person, event, etc. as a monument or a holiday. God had favor on the Israelites as they crossed over the river Jordan into the Promised Land. He parted the waters so that the Ark of the Covenant and the people could pass over. Joshua placed stones there so that when the next generation asked: "what do these stones mean?" they would tell them of what happened there – remember.
This weekend we pause to remember the people who died while serving in our country’s armed services. Freedom is not free; blood was shed that we might live as free men. Remember, tell the next generation why.
If we do not know our past we are doomed to repeat it.
May you and your family have a blessed Memorial Day Weekend.
